The knowledge and experience I acquired through the program of this training was useful. It is very appropriate for my country and my organization. The quality of lectures was excellent for me to comprehend clearly the link U-T-G.

I'm satisfied by the textbooks and materials used in the program.

We have not enough opportunities to get direct experiences such as site-visits and practices (Visit to companies; Visit the various agencies of the IP, Investigation of industrial needs).

Although I have difficulties to realize my plan of action, this training helps me to persevere and to have clearer ideas.

I hope to achieve better cooperation with JICA because my organization really needed in order to realize my action plan and to make a project like Sri Lanka.

I was impressed during my stay in Japan by the rationality of the Japanese, the way that they treat and solve problems, as well as the organization of the society.

I have been gaining a lot of benefits and very nice experience after the completion of this training. Knowledge gained about U-I-G Linkage is very comprehensive because it covers ranging from technology management, intellectual property, patent office management, lesson learnt of technology transfer from TUT, lesson learnt from intermediary enterprise and furthermore the case study and field exercises. The instructor on the training of highly qualified and this is further supported very well by TUT as a place of training and also organizer. Participants were also asked to participate actively in these activities. The first begins with the inception report for the identification of state of the art of U-I-G on the institution / country respectively. Then the seed-need matching activity carried out by visiting the company and direct discussions with businessman/industry sector people. At the end participants were asked to create an action plan to be implemented in their respective places. Finally, all participants were asked to make a progress report and final report. I learnt also very valuable experience from the participants of other countries. In the future, I really hope this kind of training still continues to be implemented and further developed. Thanks JICA, thanks Instructors and thanks TUT.

U-I-G linkages training was not only an eye opener on how to enhance collaboration between Universities, Industry and Government in research. Through the training I gained knowledge on how it works and the modalities of establishing linkages. The lectures were informative; the lecturers were very thorough and expert in their areas of expertise. The visits to industries were insightful and showed that a seemingly performing industry still has challenges and needs to improve.

For a developing country like Kenya, I felt that it would be a very relevant approach for faster development since the research done would be focused and relevant to industries for immediate use instead of the current situation where most of the research done by the universities have very little significance / impact / relevance to the industries supporting development. I urge the developing countries to adopt the U-I-G Linkage approach since it works!!!!

I enjoyed being involved and have taken efforts in this training. However, it would not have been possible without the kind support and help of many individuals and organizations. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all of them.

I am highly indebted to JICA Chubu and ICCEED TUT (Toyohashi University) for their guidance and constant supervision as well as for providing necessary information regarding the training and also for their support in completing the program.

I would like to express my gratitude towards Faculty of engineering and JICA Lao office for their kind co-operation and encouragement which help me in completion of this training.

I would like to express my special gratitude and thanks to all lecturers for giving me such attention and time.

My thanks and appreciations also go to my colleague in developing the project and people who have willingly helped me out with their abilities.

This training gives me a lot of new experiences. I understand clearly the basic knowledge of T-I-G linkage as well as technology management. Even thought there was some part of lecture gave me a difficult to do an exercise on finding information of using combustion energy technology in hydropower because there is not much information in Laos. More advantage of understanding about the intellectual property law with its application put me in the best effort to catch up other participants, it was my new knowledge to learn about intellectual property law I was delighted to participate this lecture. As a result I would like to add that there is a lot of knowledge and to benefit fully experience from this training program. It is expected to be used to foster other young coordinators and promote T-I-G linkage in my organization after returning to my country. Again I do hope next time I can come back to Japan within any reason.

When I have learned I was accepted on the said training I was so excited and very anxious on the learning that I would get to the forty five (45) days itself.

The learning and knowledge that I was able to absorb was a much very helpful for me cause it gave me a real meaning on the scenario what a University-Industry-Government Linkages. As I have shared before during the training session itself that most of us here in our university misunderstood the concept of the real function and meaning of U-I-G Linkages. The things that I have acquired during the training would be a very big help to the university to establish a better and a broader scope of the U-I-G linkage.

As to the implementation of my Actions Plans I have a hard time in realizing it cause of lack of facilities and getting a hard time to convince my colleagues on how U-I-G linkages operates. But in regard to this, am very much thankful to the concrete ideas and clearer points of views that I have learned a lot on the training and hopefully another one of my co-faculty could attend the said training as to collaborate with me in bringing the best ideas to the administration of the university.

Home Stay Program was very much enjoyable and I couldn't forget how our family gave us importance and their kindness.

To the TUT (Toyohashi University of Technology) especially the ICCEED staff headed by Dr. Kiuchi and also to the Trainers who really gave us a concrete ideas on the training I'm very much thankful to all of you. Lastly to JICA who is responsible for sending us for attending this training, THANKS A LOT.

The design of the training program is very much appropriate for our organization in order to achieve the objective of the training. The training period is somewhat long as it enables all the trainees to participate in the said activity. The experiences shared by the other participants are worth learning as it can be applied in our own country situation. Plant visits also play an important factor in the achievement of the program objectives. Opportunities were given also to the trainees to participate actively in the workshops and discussions. However some questions raised by the participants were not answer appropriately by the facilitators. Likewise, it would be better also if the manuals or brochures given by the companies be translated in English version for a better understanding of the situations. The quality of lectures were good enough also for a better understanding. Said knowledge and experience that I acquired through the program is useful as it can be adapted to our work in our organization. The home stay is an unforgettable experience for a better understanding of the social and cultural background of Japan. Likewise, facilities at JICA Center are suitable enough for the training program.
