Survey of Cooperation for Higher Education Loan Project in Malaysia

Higher Education Loan Project (HELP) in Malaysia funds scholarships by Yen Loan for Malaysian students who want to study in Japan. The scholarships offer opportunity for the students to study at science and engineering departments or graduate schools of universities in Japan.

The project, in the thrid phase, provides three-year study (preparatory study in a year and the former hal of undergraduate study n two years) in Malaysia and furthre supports the latter half of undergraduate study in two years at universities in Japan.

TUT is exploring the possibility of collaborating with the project, assisted by ICCEED.

Cooperation with Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology

Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT) opened in 2011 as a higher education institution following Japanese engineering education and held its opening ceremony in 2012.

To provide cooperation to MJIIT, a consortium has been formed at the Japanese side, constituted by organizations including participating universities, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and JICA.

TUT joined the consortium and is cooperating to MJIIT through ICCEED.
