Innovative Engineers Development Program through Enhancing Network between Asian Countries and Regional Industries

1. Purpose of the program

• Develop professional engineering skills for international students from 12 Asian countries in order to promote innovation globally
• Promote innovation in the whole Asia by strengthening relationships between Japanese local companies, international students, partner universities and Toyohashi University of Technology through the program

2. Program contents

Program students will develop their professional engineering skills through the general subjects for International Master's Degree Program and the program specific subjects such as Japanese Language, Japanese Life Today, Japanese Industrial Technologies and Innovation and Japanese Industrial Internship Program.

3. Number of Scholarship Students

8 students: Japanese Government (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology: MEXT) Scholarship (University Recommendation) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Innovative Asia Support

Note: Number of scholarship students for JICA support is subject to change.

4. Qualifications

• Those who will study about targeted research area (Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Big Data, Robotics, Data Science) or research applying these technologies
• Those who have obtained a bachelor degree from the partner university
• Those who are meeting the qualifications for application of Japanese government scholarship
• Those who are meeting the qualifications of International Master Degree Program, Toyohashi University of Technology

5. Application Procedure and deadlines

1. Find TUT's supervisor and obtain prior-approval
2. Apply for Program and Japanese Government Scholarship (University Recommendation)
   Deadline: January 25 (Mon), 2021 (Japan Time)
3. Apply for International Master's DegreeProgram
   Deadline: The end of May, 2021
4. Announcement of MEXT scholarship selection results by e-mail (June 2021)
5. Announcement of acceptance (July 2021)
6. Enrollment (October 2021)

Note: All application documents will be used for screening in several organizations such as MEXT, JICA and government in country of applicants.
