One of the CIE's responsibilities is to establish and manage the overseas education base (TUT-USM Penang) in Penang, Malaysia. With the cooperation of the Universiti Sains Malaysia, TUT-USM Penang was established in Penang, Malaysia as the University's Overseas Educational Institution on December 4, 2013.

CIE is taking a lead role in planning and implementing the Overseas Internship Training, as well as FD activities at TUT-USM Penang.
